Auxiliary

Mountain Park Rescue Squad Auxiliary

The Auxiliary is a specialized branch of the Rescue Squad that is composed of community volunteers dedicated to fundraising and community events. They are responsible for creating, implementing, and carrying-out their events. It may seem like a small part, but it makes a huge difference for our organization. By allieviating fundraising and public events off of the administration and the operational units of the Rescue Squad, more time and energy can be spent on policy, training, and response efforts. At the same time, it allows a designated group of folks put all of their heart and effort into raising funds, spreading awareness, and maximizing community outreach.

FAQs

Do I have to come trainings or attend classes?

No. You will only attend meetings and events as agreed upon during Auxiliary meetings. Auxiliary meetings will be determined by the Chair once one is elected.

Do I have to respond to calls?

You do not. In fact, the auxiliary and the operational members cannot cross. This keeps obligations to a minimum. Your duties will focus solely on fundraising and community engagement.

Who can join?

Anyone can join! You do not have to reside in our district. You can live anywhere, do anything for work, be of any age, gender, sex, race, or affiliation. We only ask that you are willing and that you are doing it to assist Mountain Park Rescue Squad.

Where does the money we will raise go?

Auxiliary funds will generally go towards our general budget. On occasion, at the direction of the chief, fundraisers dedicated to certain goals may be held. Otherwise, the funds will help with general operations which can range from gear and equipment, to vehicle maintenance, to our first building, or towards a wide variety of expenses.
